Bodega en MovimientoMarta García · Ana Hernández
Marta García and Ana Hernández make natural sparkling wines by the ancestral method in Sanlúcar de Barrameda and Jerez, in the Marco de Jerez. The project began when Marta, from Málaga and a sommelier in London and Barcelona, tasted Sanlúcar's Palomino ancestral wines at a fair in Barcelona in 2019 and decided to make wines like them. They work old Palomino vines farmed organically, without chemicals according to the winery, and state that they add no sulphites or any other additive.
Sanlúcar de Barrameda and Jerez, in the Marco de Jerez (Cádiz). According to the winery, they work different pagos between the two towns, with old Palomino vines farmed organically. Marta describes the area as «white lands». There is no organic certification on record, and no published figures for hectares, altitude or vine age.
- Ancestral method for every wine: it is bottled when the density reaches 1005 and fermentation finishes in the bottle, which creates the bubbles naturally
- Hand harvest, destemming and a gentle manual press
- Spontaneous fermentation with the grapes' own yeasts, in stainless steel tanks
- Hand disgorging, with no filtering or fining; topped up with the same wine, crown-capped and labelled by hand
- Sulphites: the winery states that it adds «no sulphites or any other additive». We do not yet have a lab analysis of these wines
Seven wines, all ancestral sparkling. The wine pages are further down:
Palomino is the grape of the area, and Bodega en Movimiento uses it for something else: natural bubbles, unfortified, to drink fresh and young.
