Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about how we work, delivery times and orders.
Why isn't Terroir Radical a conventional shop?
Because every wine we sell comes from a specific producer and a specific harvest. We are not a warehouse: we are a direct bridge between you and the person who made the wine.
When you buy at TR, we start the chain: we contact the producer, the producer sends us the wine, we check it and we ship it to you. It takes a few extra days, but what you receive is always authentic, fresh and traceable to its origin.
Do you hold your own stock?
No. Every order is activated in real time. We work with small-run producers and limited harvests, and we prefer not to accumulate stock so that you always receive the wine in the best possible condition — straight from the winery.
This lets us offer wines you won't find at any large distributor, but it means availability can vary.
What steps does my order follow?
- You place the order and the payment is confirmed.
- TR contacts the producer and checks the stock of that vintage.
- The producer sends the wine to Terroir Radical.
- TR checks, packs and protects every bottle.
- We ship the wine with TIPSA tracking and notify you by email.
What types of wine do you sell?
At Terroir Radical we work exclusively with three categories:
- Natural wine: made from organic or biodynamic grapes, spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and no additives in the cellar. No added sulphites or minimal doses.
- Biodynamic wine: a step beyond organic. The vineyard is worked following the principles of biodynamic agriculture (Rudolf Steiner), respecting lunar rhythms and treating the estate as a living ecosystem.
- Minimal intervention: producers who, without following a certified protocol, share the same philosophy: minimal additives, respect for terroir and honesty in the bottle.
All TR producers are personally selected. Learn more about natural wine → · What is biodynamics? →
Are natural wines always cloudy or with sediment?
Often, yes. Natural wine is not aggressively filtered or stabilised with additives, so it is common to find a slight haze or sediment at the bottom of the bottle. It is not a flaw — it is a sign that the wine is alive.
If you have doubts about how to read a particular wine, write to us and we will guide you.
Do you sell conventional or industrial wines?
No. All the wines in the Terroir Radical catalogue meet, at the very least, the criteria of minimal intervention: organic or in-conversion grapes, no synthetic additives and no industrial corrections in the cellar.
When am I charged for the order?
At the time of purchase, like any online shop. The amount is reserved immediately.
If there is any problem — sold-out stock, vintage unavailable — we refund 100% of the amount within a maximum of 24–48 hours.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through Stripe, the secure payment platform.
Payments are SSL-encrypted. TR never stores your card details.
Is it safe to enter my payment details?
Yes. All payments are processed through Stripe, one of the most secure payment processors in the world. TR never sees or stores your card number — the data travels encrypted directly to Stripe over SSL.
Will I receive an order confirmation?
Yes. As soon as payment is confirmed, you will automatically receive an email with the order summary. When the wine leaves the winery, we will send you a second email with the TIPSA tracking number.
Can I cancel my order?
You can cancel before the producer prepares the shipment. Write to us as soon as possible at hola@terroirradical.es stating the order number.
Once the wine has left the winery it is no longer possible to cancel — but if there is any issue, we always find a solution.
How much does shipping cost?
Carrier: TIPSA. The price depends on the number of bottles in the order. Free shipping from €90.
| Number of bottles | Shipping cost (VAT included) |
|---|---|
| 1 to 6 bottles | €7.95 |
| 7 to 12 bottles | €11.20 |
| More than 12 bottles | No-obligation quote |
| Any order of €90 or more | Free |
How long will it take to receive my wine?
We prepare and ship orders on Tuesdays and Fridays. To receive your wine on Tuesday, order before Monday at 10 pm. To receive it on Friday, before Thursday at 10 pm.
Once prepared, transport via TIPSA usually takes 24–48 hours to reach its destination on the Iberian Peninsula.
Slower than Amazon? Yes. But what you receive has gone straight from the winery to your hands — no intermediate warehouse, no aged stock.
Do you ship to all of Spain? And to Europe?
We ship throughout the Iberian Peninsula.
For shipments to the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Ceuta, Melilla or any European destination, contact us at hola@terroirradical.es and we will calculate a personalised quote.
How does the wine arrive? Is it protected?
Yes. Every order is packed with materials made specifically for wine bottles: individual dividers, a reinforced box and security tape. The bottles do not move during transport.
If any bottle is damaged when you receive the order, write to us within 48 hours at hola@terroirradical.es — send us a photo of the breakage and the order number and we will deal with it immediately.
Do I have to be home when the order arrives?
It is not essential, but it is advisable. TIPSA will make one delivery attempt; if no one is there, they will leave a notice and try again the next working day.
If you need to coordinate delivery or have a special address, write to us before placing the order.
How can I track my order?
When the wine leaves the winery, you will receive an email with the TIPSA tracking number. With that number you can check the status in real time at tipsa.com.
If you have any questions, write to us at hola@terroirradical.es and we will let you know.
Do you ship during hot weather?
Yes, we ship all year round. In summer we recommend that someone be at home to receive the order, to avoid the wine sitting in the sun or in a mailbox for hours.
If you live in a particularly hot area or want to coordinate delivery, ask us before placing the order.
What happens if the wine I bought has sold out?
We notify you by email immediately with two options:
- New vintage available: if the producer has the next vintage ready, we let you know. You decide whether you want to wait or cancel the order.
- No production: if the producer has no wine from this vintage, we refund 100% of the amount within a maximum of 48 hours. No questions asked, no fees.
Can you guarantee the availability of the wines on the website?
We work to keep the catalogue up to date, but wines from small producers and limited vintages often sell out unexpectedly. If a wine is no longer available when you confirm the order, we will contact you immediately.
If you see a wine marked “Awaiting harvest”, it means the current vintage has sold out and we are waiting for the next one. You can contact us to find out the estimated date.
The wine arrived in poor condition. What should I do?
Contact us within 48 hours of receipt:
- Send an email to hola@terroirradical.es
- Attach photos of the damaged bottle and the package.
- Include the order number.
We will replace the wine at no cost.
Can I return a wine I didn't like?
Natural wines have a character of their own — they can surprise. We do not accept returns for taste preferences, since the wine has arrived in perfect condition.
If the wine has a real defect (cork taint, oxidation, breakage during transport) or we have made a mistake with the order, we will resolve it at no cost. Write to us at hola@terroirradical.es.
What do I do if a bottle is missing from my order?
Write to us within 48 hours of receipt at hola@terroirradical.es stating the order number. We will check it immediately and send you the missing bottle or refund that amount.
At what temperature should I serve natural wine?
As a general guide:
- Whites and rosés: 8–12°C
- Light reds (gamay, pinot, young grenache): 12–14°C
- Full-bodied reds: 16–18°C
Natural wines benefit from being served a little cooler than conventional ones — especially in summer. A lightly chilled light red is one of the great revelations of natural wine.
Do I need to decant natural wine?
It is not essential, but for reds with a lot of character or that have been closed for a while, 15–20 minutes of decanting opens them up noticeably. Young, fresh wines are best served straight away.
If there is sediment at the bottom, tilt the bottle slowly when pouring or decant it to separate it — it is not a flaw, it is a sign the wine has not been filtered.
What glass should I use for natural wine?
A wide-mouthed glass (Burgundy style) works well for most natural wines — it concentrates the aromas and lets the wine breathe. You don't need specific glasses for each style.
Natural wine has a personality of its own — it reveals its character even in a simple glass.
How long does an open bottle last?
It depends on the wine:
- Fresh, young white: 1–2 days well sealed in the fridge.
- Full-bodied red or wine with minimal sulphites: best finished the same day or the next.
- Some natural wines evolve surprisingly well over 2–3 days — try seeing how it changes.
How do I store wine at home?
A cool (ideally 12–16°C), dark place without vibrations. If you don't have a cellar, a cupboard away from heating and direct light works perfectly.
Bottles with cork: lying down so the cork does not dry out. Bottles with screw cap or crown cap: doesn't matter. Natural wines, in general, are not meant for long ageing — enjoy them at their best.
Does the wine need to rest after delivery?
Yes. We recommend letting it rest for 24–48 hours before opening. Transport shakes the wine, and resting lets it recover its balance. Some sensitive wines may need up to a week to show their best.
What food goes well with natural wine?
Natural wine has a lively acidity that makes it very versatile. As a general guide:
- Whites and rosés: fish, seafood, grilled vegetables, fresh cheeses, Mediterranean cuisine.
- Light reds: cured meats, rice dishes, mushrooms, pasta, chicken.
- Full-bodied reds: meats, stews, aged cheeses.
- Orange wine: spiced dishes, Asian cuisines, soft or aged cheeses.
Don't worry too much about rules — the best pairing is the one you like.
What wine should I choose for a group with varied tastes?
A natural rosé or a light white works for almost everyone. If the group is curious, a pét-nat (natural sparkling) is perfect to break the ice — it is festive, easy to understand and surprises those who don't consider themselves wine lovers.
Browse our catalogue or write to us and we will recommend something.
Does orange wine go well with food?
Very well — it is perhaps the most food-friendly of all. It has the structure of a red but the freshness of a white: it pairs with spiced dishes, Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine, soft cheeses, cured meats and egg-based preparations.

Are there fixed pairing rules?
No. The best rule is to drink the wine you like with the food you like. That said, some combinations work especially well through balance of acidity, texture and flavour — but they are guidelines, not dogmas.
Natural wine has a personality of its own that sometimes breaks all the rules — and in a good way.
Where can I read Terroir Radical's natural wine guides?
In our Learn section you will find all our guides: natural wine, biodynamics, minimal intervention, orange wine, pét-nat and more. Content written for anyone who wants to understand the wine in their glass.
Where can I find information about who made my wine?
On the producers page. Each winery has its profile: territory, working philosophy and all its available wines. The wine comes from a specific person — here you can get to know them.
Do you have a glossary of native grape varieties?
Yes. Our guide to native varieties covers the main Mediterranean varieties: origin, characteristics and why natural wine producers prefer them to the better-known international varieties.
Do you have a natural wine podcast?
Yes! ¿Qué bebes? is our podcast of conversations about natural wine, producers and wine culture. Coming soon to Spotify, Apple Podcasts and the Terroir Radical website. We are recording the first episodes.
Do you have a blog?
Yes. On the Terroir Radical blog we publish articles about natural wine, producers and territory. A good way to go deeper between orders.
Do you handle orders for weddings, parties or companies?
Yes. If you need wine for a wedding, a company party, a corporate dinner or a group gift, contact us and we will take care of it. We advise you on variety, quantity and logistics so everything arrives on time and in perfect condition.
How does pricing work for large-volume orders?
Large orders are handled with a personalised quote. Tell us the number of bottles, the type of wine and the date, and we will send you a proposal. Contact us to request a quote.
How many bottles do I need for my event?
A bottle of wine serves roughly 5 glasses. To calculate: multiply the number of people by the glasses you expect each to drink, and divide by 5. As a guide: 2–3 glasses per person for a reception, 3–4 for a dinner with food.
If in doubt, tell us the format of the event and we will help you calculate. Contact us →
Can you deliver on a specific date?
We can plan it. Tell us the date of your event in your enquiry and we will coordinate with enough margin for the wine to arrive on time. For important events, we recommend getting in touch at least 2 weeks in advance.
Can you send gifts to multiple addresses?
Yes. If you want to send bottles as gifts to clients, collaborators or teams at different addresses, contact us with the list and we will coordinate it. We can include a personalised note with each shipment.
What kind of wine do you recommend for an event?
For receptions and drinks, a natural white or rosé is always a safe, easy-to-love choice. For dinners, a white + red selection covers every dish. If the group is curious, a pét-nat is festive and breaks the ice.
Tell us the format and we will put together a tailored selection. Contact us →
