A traditional Catalan variety, also called Carinyena gris, with vines in the Empordà and Priorat. INCAVI (the Catalan Institute of Vine and Wine) studied it with the Empordà and Priorat regulatory councils, wineries and growers, and in July 2023 it was published in the BOE as an authorised variety in Catalonia, together with Verdiell (Verdil). With these two, Catalonia reaches 61 authorised varieties; DOs can now include it in their rules.
