A white mutation of Carinyena. It has been discussed since around 1900, but was not officially recognised in Spain until autumn 2018; it is among the oldest varieties in the vineyards of the Alt Empordà and Languedoc-Roussillon. On 30 May 2024 the DOQ Priorat regulatory council approved it as a new authorised variety (procedure pending with INCAVI, the Ministry and the EU), and wineries such as Vall Llach, Familia Nin Ortiz, Mas Alta and Terres de Vidalba are studying and recovering it.
