Clot de les SoleresCarles i Montse
Carles works the vineyard and Montse makes the wine. Clot de les Soleres is a family project born at Heretat Ferrer, in the Vall de Piera (Anoia), where the winery literally lives surrounded by its plots. Farmers' and artisans' wines: single-varietals made without chemical products, unfiltered, unfined. Nothing is added or taken away.
The winery is located at Heretat Ferrer, in the Vall de Piera, in the Anoia region (Catalonia). A particularity of the project is that the winery is inside the vineyards themselves: Carles farms the plots that surround it and Montse makes the wine right next door. A very short chain between vine and bottle.
- Respectful viticulture: no chemical-synthesis products
- Minimal-intervention winemaking: spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts
- No filtration, no fining, no oenological additives
- All the wines are single-varietal: each bottle expresses one variety and one vintage
- Varieties: Malvasía, Cabernet Sauvignon, Macabeo
Clot de les Soleres is what is known as a 'vino de payés' — a farmer's wine: made by the one who works the land, without intermediaries, without large infrastructure. Carles and Montse's vision is as simple as it is profound: respect the land and the vineyard so that each variety expresses itself freely. Healthy, natural, authentic wines.
The Vall de Piera is a micro-territory within the Anoia, an inland Catalan Penedès region. A transition zone between the coast and the interior, with enough altitude to maintain freshness and thermal range. The Anoia has a long winemaking tradition, but it is precisely in small family projects like Clot de les Soleres that the character of the land is expressed most faithfully.

Editorial note
I met him at the Natural Wine Fair in Valencia. Carles Andreu had a simple table, a few bottles and little else —but when I tried his wines I was stunned. Clot de les Soleres works in the Vall de Piera, in the Anoia of Catalonia, with varieties such as Chardonnay, Xarel·lo and Malvasia under organic viticulture. Sincere natural wine, without oenological correction. Simplicity and purity as a philosophy of life and of the winery.
