Verdello

Not widely planted, but present on all the islands. It is a synonym of Galicia's Verdello and of Verdelho do Pico (Azores); it does not match any Verdejo of the mainland. Small, very compact bunch (about 125 g), very productive in number of bunches, highly sensitive to powdery mildew and at risk of rot in humid areas. Medium ripening; with its high alcohol (13.5%) and total acidity (6.5 g/l) it is one of the most interesting white varieties of the Canary Islands: clean, fresh wines with a good aromatic profile.
