Morvedre ^[[Favà]]

Name of the vine known in Valencia as monastrell, derived from the medieval place name of Sagunto (Murviedro). According to the sources the book gathers, it spread from Sagunto to the Roussillon, the Languedoc and Provence, where it remains an important red-wine variety (mourvèdre): the Valencian ampelonym returned to its language of origin adapted to French phonetics.
