Casa MasasJordi Solà
Four generations rooted in Mirambel. In 2019 they built a small winery in the courtyard of the family home to make natural wines from their own vineyards, carefully farmed organically.
Casa Masas was founded in the early twentieth century by Manuel and Filomena, offering inn and café services to the village of Mirambel. Their happiness did not last long, as the Civil War took Manuel, leaving Filomena and her daughter Natalia alone at the head of the business. Together they managed to get through those hard times, until the middle of the century. Natalia married Agustín and in 1957 they were forced to close the establishment, emigrating to Barcelona with their two daughters.
Almost a century after its beginnings, in 2017 the fourth generation, motivated by the stories grandmother Natalia used to tell, decided to restore the old shop and canteen and turn it into a space for tasting and selling local artisan products. In 2019 a small winery was built in the courtyard of the same house, allowing them to make their own wines from small vineyards they tend carefully themselves.
Mirambel is located at the end of the main street of a marvellous medieval ensemble in the Maestrazgo of Teruel. To enjoy its architectural heritage, you have to pass through one of its five gateways; once inside, you find a story on every corner, in every stone. The landscape of the Maestrazgo is the identity of this land, where for centuries people have withstood the passage of time, largely defining the character and way of life of its inhabitants.

Editorial note
I met Jordi Solà at the Natural Wine Producers' Fair. He came from Mirambel, an isolated village in Teruel where roots grow strong. There are places that shape you without you noticing, and Mirambel is one of those places: medieval, silent, full of history. Jordi makes wine the way it used to be made, without additives, without hurry. Garnacha Tinta from own vineyards with accumulated wisdom. Wines with power, structure and depth — for those looking for something real in the glass.
