Terroir Radical Manifesto

Terroir Radical is a wine shop and a way of choosing. These are the six ideas we use to decide who we buy from and what we tell you.

1. Wine speaks of a place.

We look for wines with a sense of place: living soil, a variety worth keeping, a way of working the vineyard that shows in the glass. What matters to us is what the producer does, not the appellation or the label.

2. There is a person behind it.

More than natural wine, we look for producers with a philosophy, who want to tell something: their land and, through it, themselves. We are drawn to people who make wine to see themselves in it.

3. Less intervention, and measured.

Spontaneous fermentation, no corrections, no make-up. On sulphites, our selection criterion is total SO₂ close to 30 mg/l, the French reference used by the Vin Méthode Nature mention, and we do not bring in any wine that reaches 50.

4. What you can't see, we show.

On every wine page we show the sulphite dose and, when we have it, the lab analysis. If a figure isn't confirmed by the producer, we say so or leave it out. We don't ask you to take our word for it.

5. Words, with their weight.

«Organic» is a certification. «Natural» has no legal definition. «Biodynamic» depends on private bodies. On each wine page we state what is certified and what is a practice declared by the producer.

6. No mixing advertising and recommendation.

We run an online shop and distribute wine to the hospitality trade. That is why we tell you what kind of wine each one is and what our relationship is with whoever makes it.

This manifesto is completed by our criteria, which explain how we check. If you think we fall short on any wine, write to us at hola@terroirradical.es.
